Oil and Filter Change
Pete's Automotive provides oil and filter changes at our Thousand Palms shop. We use the oil your vehicle specifies, replace the filter and look the car over while it is on the lift. Bring your mileage and service history, and ask which checks are included before authorizing work.

Your manual sets the interval, not a windshield sticker
The old every-three-thousand-miles rule comes from a time before modern engines and modern oil. Go by the interval in your owner’s manual, or by the oil life reminder on your dash if your car has one, since that system watches how the car has actually been driven instead of just counting miles. Then adjust for real life: constant heat, dust, lots of short trips, heavy traffic, and towing all put you on the shorter schedule, and most drivers around here hit at least one of those.
The grade matters more than the brand
Two things on the bottle count: the grade your engine calls for, like 0W-20, and whether the oil meets the standard your carmaker requires. Newer engines are built with tight clearances designed around a specific grade, and thicker oil does not protect them better, it protects them worse. Filters matter too, and a cheap filter on good oil is a false savings.
The inspection is the real reason to have it done here
While your car is up: fluid levels and condition, belts and hoses, tire wear and pressure, brake pad thickness, steering and suspension play, battery condition, and anything dripping. That is where a swollen hose or a low brake pad gets caught while it is still a small line item. Confirm which inspection checks are included when you book your oil change.
